Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" Extra IPA

Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" Extra IPA. Still trying to figure out why I'm smiling in this picture. This had a very pine based bitter note as the description promises...and I know I bought it because Pliny the Elder Russian River Brewing Company was listed as the #1 local brew on another beer blog site. It had the same characteristics noted as this #1 brew, and I really TRIED to liken it to the same bitter notes (citrus/grapefruit) as Widmer's Rotator but it fell flat. I even tried to squeeze a bit of lemon into it to make it more citrus, but alas...it was just bitter to me. My tongue is just not meant to love the bitter brews. So sad :(
