Alaskan White

Alaskan White:  I certainly expected this to mimic the other Belgium Whites brewed with spices, but it wasn’t a complete duplicate. It was pleasant enough, but not memorable enough to prompt me to purchase it again.

New Belgium Trippel

New Belgium Trippel: I again, was expecting a “Blue Moon” style beer, since it says brewed with coriander. I missed the 7.8% alcohol content, and I guess it’s fermented much longer (thus, the reference to triple) and WHOA. Is it strong? I forgot, I think I passed out!

Full Sail LTD recipe #03

Full Sail LTD recipe #3: I didn’t care for it as much as the lager recipe #5, but it was fine. I wouldn’t buy it again, but I would drink it again.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest

Samuel Adams Octoberfest: My new favorite! Well, one of them. I was wowed by the intense toasty flavor I got from this brew. It was a bit heavier than I usually cared for, but I was so smitten with the flavor that I didn’t mind at all!

New Belgium Abbey Belgian Style Ale

New Belgium Abbey Belgian Style Ale: I was expecting a “Blue Moon” type beer, but was knocked over (literally, the alcohol content was like 7%) by what is considered to be a true Belgium brew. I felt like I was travelling to a foreign country sipping on this!

Corona Familiar

Corona Familiar: So I thought this was going to be the same as the Corona most of us are used to, but the dark bottle apparently prevents it from developing that “skunky” flavor we’re used to from Corona. It was different, but I enjoyed it!

Rogue Ales Chatoe Rogue OREgasmic Ale

Rogue Ales Chatoe Rogue OREgasmic Ale: From the first growth apparently…but once again, I find myself saving it to make pizza crust out of. Too bitter for me to drink, but perfect to add flavor to pizza crust!

Schlitz! The ORIGINAL...not the Malt Liquor.

Schlitz! : The original recipe from the 1960’s. It’s a very nice beer to drink. Has a good balance of flavor, enough bitterness balanced by a nice toasty finish, but light enough to enjoy sipping on all night. My husband, who no longer drinks because he lost his “taste” for beer, says he would drink this as his beer of choice!

Samuel Adams East-West Kolsch

Samuel Adams East-West Kolsch: Ummm, not sure what I’d call the flavors in this one…had a bitterness that I likened to grass, it wasn’t entirely unpleasant, but wasn’t something I’d choose to drink again. But if someone offered it, I’d choke one down.

Samuel Adams Rustic Saison

Samuel Adams Rustic Saison:  It was a nice veer off my normal beer tasting path…had a slight bitter, almost herbal/spicy quality that made it unique.

Beck's Dark

Beck’s Dark: Well, it’s Beck’s, only dark. Does that make sense? Maybe a little less of the “skunky” quality typically tasted in regular Beck’s. It sat in my fridge far longer than normal for me.

Red Hook Wit

Red Hook Wit: The bottle says “Made with Ginger, but still digs Maryann”…I thought it might be a subtle twist on the beers brewed with coriander, but it was a barely discernable difference. Good though!

Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier

Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier... Upon the first sip, I almost decided it’d be better to bake with, but then I kept sipping and fell in love. Just goes to show you that first impressions don’t always determine the outcome! It was a pleasant wheat beer with a delicious hint of blackberry that didn’t overpower the flavor. It’s one I’ll be adding to my list of favorites!

New Belgium Somersault

New Belgium Somersault...head over heels, eh? This has a nice bite and perfect balance of hops and malt to create an easy summer sipper. Supper? Beer...it's what's for dinner!
